Pay
What an aquatic professional earns in Switzerland.
Indicative ranges by role and region, so neither operators nor coaches negotiate blind.
| Role | Indicative hourly rate | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Swim teacher — entry level | CHF 34–44 / h | Brevet Base Pool, first months of experience |
| Swim teacher — experienced | CHF 45–62 / h | Teaching qualification, several seasons, bilingual |
| Lifeguard | CHF 38–52 / h | Brevet Plus Pool, weekend and evening hours |
| Pool manager | CHF 48–65 / h | Brevet Pro Pool, team leadership |
| Club coach | CHF 42–58 / h | J+S qualification, competition results |
The regional gap is real
The same role isn't paid the same in Zurich, Geneva and Valais. Large German-speaking cities sit at the top of the ranges; mountain regions and seasonal operations sit lower — often with accommodation as part of the deal.
Where these numbers come from
These ranges reflect what we see in the roles brought to us and in the expectations declared by registered professionals. They are neither official scales nor collectively agreed minimums. Always check the applicable collective agreement and cantonal law before setting pay.
The register is open.
Whether you have a Tuesday morning to cover or a brevet to put to work, it takes minutes.
